Traditional roof and facade inspections require physical access — scaffolding setup, boom lift mobilization, or rope descent systems. Each of these methods introduces safety liability, requires trained access personnel, and takes hours to set up. A drone completes the same inspection in a fraction of the time, capturing indexed, high-resolution images from angles that would be difficult or impossible to achieve manually.
We operate the DJI Air 2S equipped with a 20 MP 1-inch CMOS sensor capable of capturing detailed imagery from safe standoff distances. For roof inspections, the drone flies a systematic grid pattern, capturing overlapping images of every seam, flashing joint, penetration, and surface. Each image is GPS-tagged and indexed to a location map so maintenance teams can pinpoint exact areas of interest.
For facade inspections, we plan flight paths that maintain safe standoff distances while capturing sufficient resolution to document surface conditions. The 20 MP camera captures fine detail that supports visual condition assessment.
All inspection imagery is delivered as indexed photo sets with a summary report that categorizes findings by location. Reports include annotated images with callout labels, a location map, and observations for follow-up. This documentation supports maintenance planning and capital improvement budgeting.
